What you’re seeing: A VAT number that looks correct shows as invalid.
Quick check (2 minutes)
- Remove spaces, dots, and dashes
- Make sure the VAT number starts with the correct country code (e.g.
NL,DE) - Check the VAT number on the official VIES site
- Retry in a few minutes (VIES can have delays/outages)
Use Logs to confirm the result
The Logs tab shows the exact validation result returned by VIES or the Swiss UID register:
- Go to EU VAT Checker → Logs
- Filter by Result = Invalid
- Search by VAT number or order ID if needed
- Use Export as CSV for deeper analysis
