Troubleshooting

Invoice upload failed

What you're experiencing:

Your WooCommerce Bol.com integration attempted to upload an invoice to Bol.com, but the upload failed. You're seeing error messages in your WooCommerce order notes. Without successful invoice uploads, Bol.com may send payment reminders or flag your account for incomplete orders.

Find the exact error message (takes 2 minutes)

  1. Navigate to WooCommerce → Orders and open the order that failed
  2. Scroll down to the "Order Notes" section (usually at the bottom of the order page)
  3. Look for red or orange notes from BridgeSync containing error details about the failed invoice upload

The error message tells you exactly why your Bol.com connector WooCommerce couldn't upload the invoice. Match your error to the solutions below.

Common invoice upload errors and how to fix them

"Invoice PDF not found" or "No invoice attached"

Why this happens: BridgeSync tried to find a PDF invoice for this order but couldn't locate one. This means your WooCommerce store isn't generating invoice PDFs automatically, or the invoice plugin isn't configured properly.

How to fix missing invoices:

  1. Install a WooCommerce invoice plugin if you don't have one (popular options: "WooCommerce PDF Invoices & Packing Slips" or "WooCommerce PDF Invoices")
  2. Configure the plugin to automatically generate invoices when orders are marked as Complete or Processing
  3. Manually generate an invoice for the failed order by opening the order and clicking the invoice button
  4. Return to BridgeSync → Dashboard and click "Sync Now" to retry uploading the invoice to Bol.com

After fixing this, all future orders will automatically generate invoices that BridgeSync can upload to Bol.com.

"File too large" or "Maximum file size exceeded"

Why this happens: The invoice PDF file exceeds Bol.com's upload limit of 5 MB. This usually occurs when invoice templates include high-resolution images, logos, or product photos that inflate the file size.

How to reduce invoice PDF file size:

  1. Open your WooCommerce invoicing plugin settings (usually under WooCommerce → Settings or a separate plugin menu)
  2. Look for PDF or template settings related to image quality, resolution, or compression
  3. Reduce image quality to 72 DPI or enable PDF compression if available
  4. Save the settings and manually regenerate the invoice for the failed order
  5. Go to BridgeSync → Dashboard and click "Sync Now" to retry the upload with the smaller file

Tip: Remove unnecessary product images or large logos from your invoice template to keep file sizes under 5 MB permanently.
