Troubleshooting

Product linking failed

What you're experiencing:

Your WooCommerce Bol.com integration cannot match products between platforms, which means stock levels won't sync, orders can't be fulfilled automatically, and you're stuck managing inventory manually in two separate systems. You may see errors about missing or invalid EAN codes when trying to connect WooCommerce store to Bol.com.

Quick diagnostic checklist (takes 2 minutes)

  1. Navigate to BridgeSync → Settings → Product Linking to check your EAN source configuration
  2. Note which field BridgeSync is checking for EAN codes (SKU, GTIN, or custom field)
  3. Open any WooCommerce product and verify the EAN code exists in that exact field
  4. Confirm the EAN is exactly 13 digits with no spaces, dashes, or extra text (format: 8710847909153)

→ If EAN codes are in the correct field and properly formatted, try running a manual sync. If products now link successfully, your Bol.com connector WooCommerce setup is fixed.

If products still won't link to Bol.com

Most common cause: EAN codes are missing or stored in the wrong field

Why product linking fails: BridgeSync is configured to look for EAN codes in one location (for example, the SKU field), but your products store EAN codes somewhere else (like a custom field or GTIN field). Without matching EAN codes, your WooCommerce to Bol.com sync cannot identify which products are the same across platforms.

How to configure the correct EAN source for automatic Bol.com product sync:

  1. Open any WooCommerce product that you sell on Bol.com
  2. Check where the EAN code is stored: Product data → Inventory → SKU, GTIN field, or look in custom fields added by plugins
  3. Go to BridgeSync → Settings → Product Linking in WordPress
  4. Select the field that matches where your EAN codes are actually stored
  5. Click "Save Settings" and run a test sync to verify products now link correctly

After configuring the correct EAN source, BridgeSync can match your WooCommerce products to their Bol.com listings automatically, enabling WooCommerce Bol.com inventory management to sync stock levels.

Another possible cause: EAN code format contains invalid characters

Why format matters: Bol.com expects EAN codes as pure 13-digit numbers. Any extra characters prevent BridgeSync from matching products correctly, breaking your automatic Bol.com product sync.

Valid EAN format: 8710847909153 (exactly 13 digits, nothing else)

Invalid EAN formats that break linking:
871-0847-909153 (contains dashes)
EAN: 8710847909153 (contains text prefix)
8710847 909153 (contains space)

How to clean up EAN codes in WooCommerce:

  1. Open your WooCommerce products that need fixing
  2. Locate the EAN code field (SKU, GTIN, or custom field)
  3. Remove any spaces, dashes, hyphens, or text labels, leaving only the 13-digit number
  4. Save each product after cleaning the EAN format
  5. Run a test sync to verify products now link successfully
Another possible cause: Product doesn't exist on Bol.com yet

Important limitation: BridgeSync can only link WooCommerce products to items that already exist in your Bol.com catalog. If you haven't listed a product on Bol.com yet, BridgeSync cannot create that listing for you automatically.

How to add products to your Bol.com catalog:

  1. Log into your Bol.com partner portal at partner.bol.com
  2. Add the product to your Bol.com catalog using the EAN code (this makes your product available to sell on Bol.com)
  3. Wait 5-10 minutes for Bol.com to process the new listing
  4. Return to BridgeSync and run a sync (the product should now link successfully)

Once a product exists in both WooCommerce and Bol.com with matching EAN codes, BridgeSync can sync stock and orders automatically.
